Crops & Clips: February, 2012 Meme Mashup

My weekly potpourri gathered from the archives features... Looking back, as I did last month, when I reviewed my photos from a single month in the past to see how far I had to get into the month to find all five of the memes featured in this page. I will  try for two for each theme, and since Critters occupy such large share of my portfolio, I removed a limit on my faves in this category, as spring is in the air! This post features February, 2012. I reached my goal by the 16th of the month. So much to look forward to this month!

Eastern (Yellow-eyed) Towhee arrives, February 29, 2012, my "half birthday" which comes around only every 4 years (can I get any longevity credit for that? This is only the second time in my whole life that I will be 50% on my way to 80 years old-- the first was when I was 40):

The Yellow-crowned Night-Herons are feeling amorous, February 29, 2012 (can't wait to see them nesting next month!):

  1. HI Kenneth I love when your weekly post comes in and once again ALL your photographs are superb. Great to see the Eaglet, it certainly is doing well. Must have good parents. Love the angle you took the Egret from and the close up shot of the Sandhill Crane is fantastic. That is a lovely butterfly although I an not sure why it is called 'white' as it appears to be mainly light blue and pale orange. great to see the heron in breeding plumage and love seeing the white shining across the sky of the Tree Swallows and 2 shots with lovely reflections of the birds iin the water. That fence is surely going to hold up Mary Lou so she is safe there. Hope you have a good weekend.

  3. Hi I just want to tell you how beautiful your pictures are and how much I enjoy them. I don't get out much anymore so that makes it really great. And you have birds that are not out my window in Kansas. Many thanks.

  6. How fun to see a baby eagle. Loved seeing it grow-up there too.
    That butterfly was gorgeous.
Nice fence and a great place to watch birds.
It was neat to see that there were cattle near the Cattle Egret, a pretty bird.
Lots of swallows there and pretty reflections.
    A very enjoyable post.
